Vintage: 2007
Varietal: Petite Sirah
Appellation: Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County
Winemaker: Antoine Favero
Winery: Mazzocco Winery
Varietal composition: 95% Petite Sirah, 5% Zinfandel

Tasting notes:

Essence of violets, cacao and spicy aromas lead to a fleshy palate that is reminiscent of ripe cassis and blackberry.  The tannin structure on this Petite Sirah is fleshy and velvety, weaved with flavors of currant and leather, with hints of pecan pie and roasted walnuts.

Winemaking notes:

The 2006 vintage was outstanding for Aguilera Petite Sirah, providing an irresistible opportunity to bottle a selected portion of the wine as a reserve.

This vineyard, located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley, is an excellent site for cultivating Petite Sirah, bestowing vibrant aromatics to the nose and richly textured tannins on the palate.

The grapes were hand-harvested and fermented with native yeast in stainless steel tanks.

Bottled unfined.
